Saturday & Sunday, November 12th & 13th, 2016 – Lake Cedar Creek

The Ray Hubbard Bass Club finished a hugely successful 2016 season with our annual Club Championship last weekend on Cedar Creek Lake. A record 66 members qualified this year and 32 boats fished. Temperatures were warm for November but Saturday there was a front coming through that brought a steady north wind in. Lots of limits were weighed in but bigger fish were in short supply. Sunday dawned with blue bird skies and a slight breeze from the east. Bites were much harder to come by and limits were sparse. When the dust settled the team of Garrett Macias and Bobby Finta went wire to wire, weighing 10 fish for 24.48 pounds to take the victory. The top four teams were within .85 pounds of each other. Every ounce counted! We paid out big bass for each day. On Saturday Kasey Bunch caught his personal best of 7.93 pounds to take the cash and on Sunday James Renfro caught a 6.77 toad for the money.

Saturday, October 15th, 2016 – Lake Ray Hubbard

The American Cancer Society in association with the Ray Hubbard Bass Club held the First Annual Fish For A Cure Tournament on Lake Ray Hubbard. This was a benefit tournament to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Months of planning all came together on Saturday and we were rewarded when 62 boats came out to fish with us! The weather was very warm and the wind blew hard all day and that can make moving around difficult on Mother Hubbard. The reports were a lot of small fish caught but keepers were much harder to find. When we settled up at the end of the day, the team of Brian Fox and Wes Price took home the $3000.00 dollar first prize with a five fish limit weighing 18.68 pounds! The $500.00 big bass prize went to the team of Garrett Macias and Bobby Finta with a 6.64 toad. Here are full results and pictures from the day.

Saturday, October 8th, 2016 – Lake Texoma

The Ray Hubbard Bass Club had our ninth and last regular season tournament on Saturday, October 8th on Lake Texoma. Blue bird skies after a cold front greeted the 31 boats that came out for the festivities. For some, fishing was tough, but there were 18 limits brought to the scales. When the dust cleared, Ronnie Manning and Capp Peace finished off their incredible year by weighing a 5 fish limit for 17.67 pounds for the victory. They capped their stringer with a 7.42 Texoma Toad for big bass of the tournament. Here are full results and pictures.

Saturday, September 10th, 2016 – Lake Ray Roberts

The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our eighth tournament of the year on Saturday September 10th. Bad weather, lots of competing tournaments and a lake that isn’t many peoples favorite contributed to our lowest turnout of the year of 17 boats. Heavy rain to start the day gave way to strong north winds and blue bird skies in the afternoon. Fishing was not easy for anyone, but as always a few people caught em. When we weighed them in at the end of the day, David Simmons and Jared Fish weighed a 5 fish limit for 14.97 pounds to take the win. Derek Sullivan and Daniel Rozelle had big bass with a 5.08 tank. Here are full results and pictures.

Saturday, August 13th, 2016 – Lake Bob Sandlin

The Ray Hubbard Bass Club had our seventh members only tournament of 2016 on Saturday August 13th at Lake Bob Sandlin. Clouds, scattered rain and lower temperatures made a day of fishing much easier on the body. Another amazing turnout of 39 boats made the trip out to fish. There were a ton of little fish caught with a few bigger fish thrown in but generally, keepers were hard to come by. When all was said and done, Cameron Laing and Patrick Sharp collected their second win of the year and blew the field away by almost 5 pounds with a great bag of 19.79 pounds, that included big bass of the day of 6.38. Here are full results and pictures.
