The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our third members only tournament of the year last Saturday May 8th on Lake Tawakoni. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. So we went to Tawakoni in the spring hoping the wind was not going to be blowing 20-30. Of course that’s exactly what happened. We have learned enough of a lesson however to use the trailering option and most stayed the heck off the main lake where there were 5-6 foot rollers. 31 teams came out to fish. The shad spawn was going on big time and to be honest it seemed to negatively affect the fishing. Only 8 limits were brought to the scales. When all was said and done the team of Ronnie Manning and Capp Peace won the day with a great bag of 18.56 pounds. Big Bass of the tournament went to David Mulkey and Mike Parkes with a 6.18 toad.
