The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our seventh members only tournament of the year last Saturday August 14th on our home lake Ray Hubbard. 26 boats came out to fish. The lake has been fishing very tough and Saturday was no exception. Only 5 limits were brought to the scales although there were some good ones weighed in. The day started hot and muggy and then 30 minutes before last cast a monster thunderstorm rolled in and chased everyone off the water. It poured for 90 plus minutes and you will see in the pictures the heavy rain falling while we weighed in under the patio at Chandlers. A few of the pictures had some drops on the lens. I apologize for that but no one had any type of dry cloth to clean the lens.  At the end of the day. the team of Preston Smith and David Horton brought home the gold with a solid sack weighing 14.40 pounds. Big bass of the tournament was a 7.34 hawg weighed in by Brian Brooks and Steve Parrish.

Thanks to Chris for doing live well checks at 0 dark 30. Thanks to Cameron for keeping the money straight. Thanks especially to Paul Spann, David Choate and James Crawford for doing a great job with weigh in under trying conditions. Thanks to all our members who came out and made a day of it no matter what. We’ll take this show south and east next month to Richland Chambers on September 11th, going out of Oak Cove Marina. Meeting on September 9th. Hope to see you there!
