Saturday-Sunday, November 9-10, 2019 – Lake Cypress Springs and Bob Sandlin Tournament

The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our annual two day Championship tournament on November 9-10 on Lakes Cypress Springs and Bob Sandlin. This is a no entry fee tournament for qualified members who fished enough members only tournaments and completed their Community Event for the year. The weather was perfect. Cold mornings gave way to sunny warm afternoons with light to moderate winds. The fishing was surprisingly good on Cypress Springs on Saturday and surprisingly tough at Bob Sandlin on Sunday. 67 members qualified to fish the event and 32 boats were on the water. When the weekend was over Chris Atkinson and myself came out with the victory with a two day combined weight of 30.06 pounds. Big bass was paid out each day with Matt Jackson and Russell Olds weighing a 5.90 on Cypress and Dennis and Damon Machost weighing in a 4.49 on Bob Sandlin to take home the checks.

That’s a wrap on 2019! Thanks to the Crawford family for getting everyone checked in on Saturday morning. Thanks to Paul Spann, David Choate, Bill Gammons, Mark Calhoun, Shellye Crawford and everyone who helped with weigh in both days. Thank you to all my Officers for a great job this year. A club as large as this one takes a lot of work and I appreciate the hard work of David Mulkey, Cameron Laing, Robert Whitt, Shellye and James Crawford, Russell Olds and Matt Jackson, Paul Spann and David Choate for everything you did this year to make everything run smoothly. Thanks to all 141 of our members for another great year! See you in January when we kick off 2020!
