Saturday & Sunday, November 11-12, 2017 – Lake Bob Sandlin & Cypress Springs

The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our annual Club Championship on November 11-12, fishing Bob Sandlin on Saturday and Cypress Springs on Sunday. 67 members qualified to fish the Championship and we had 30 boats fish the two day event. Weather was cool and dry on Saturday and the wind picked up in the afternoon, but overall a nice day to fish. Fishing was good as 25 of the 30 boats brought a limit to the scales. Leading after Day 1 was the team of Vince Burt and Josh Mulkey who had a monster bag weighing 19.59 anchored by a 9.53 beast. Sunday on Cypress was a different story. The day started with a cold steady rain that continued most of the day. It kept everyone miserable and the fishing followed suit. Big bags and big fish were hard to come by. Coming from behind with a two day total of 27.99 to win were 2016 AOY’s Ronnie Manning and Capp Peace whose Sunday bag included a big bass of 5.58.

That’s a wrap on a VERY successful 2017 season! Thanks to all my Officers on a job well done. Thanks to all our members who came out to support our Club in all our endeavors in 2017. Our 2018 schedule will be posted very soon. Our first meeting of 2018 will be on Thursday January 11th. Our first tournament of 2018 will be on February 10th. Until then, have a great holiday season from the Ray Hubbard Bass Club!
