Saturday, July 8th, 2017 – Lake Lavon
The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our sixth members only tournament of 2017 last Saturday July 8th at Lake Lavon. After a smaller turn out at Cedar Creek in June, we rebounded strong with a monster summer turnout of 43 boats! Typical summer heat was offset by a decent breeze early that turned in to a strong wind by the end of the day. We pushed our way through the weigh in to try and beat an approaching storm which you will see in evidence in one of the photos. Lavon has been fishing tough. Keepers have been hard to come by and our numbers showed that. Only eight 5 fish limits were brought to the scales. There were two big bags brought in and some giant fish as well. Continuing their season long domination were the team of Andy and Ricky Medina who weighed a 5 fish limit for a stout 21.10 pounds to take the win. Big bass of the year so far was caught in July! The team of Garrett Macias and Bobby Finta brought a 10.28 giant to the scales.
