Ray Hubbard Bass Club Tournament Rules
Tournament Rules The
following general rules apply to all regular Club tournaments:
- All Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as TP&W
(Texas Parks & Wildlife) rules and regulations must be observed. Any violations
of the rules by an individual or team will be subject to penalty or disqualification
by the tournament director.
- The tournament
will be held on the weekend following the monthly Club meeting Exceptions will
be when holidays fall on that weekend. In which case, the meeting and the tournament
will be scheduled for the previous or subsequent week
- All
bass must be of legal length, measured with mouth closed and tail squeezed to
produce maximum length. Eligible 'length' for slot
lakes will be determined by the Tournament Director at the meeting prior to the
tournament
- Any fish not of legal length
at the time of weigh in will be disqualified and the fisherman will be assessed
a one (1.0) pound penalty per disqualified fish
- There
will be a one-half pound (.5) penalty for each and every dead fish brought to
the weigh-in
- 1 pound penalty per minute
for late arrivals with no weigh-in after 15 minutes. Must have a team member in
line for determination of arrival time.
- Fishing
is allowed from boats only
- Fishing is allowed
only on the designated tournament lake.
- All
occupants of the boat must wear a Coast Guard approved personal flotation device
while the boat is 'on plane'
- Boats will
be allowed to trailer to another boat ramp on the designated lake. Boats
may leave the tournament launch site no earlier than 30 minutes before tournament
start time unless otherwise allowed by the Tournament Director and cannot begin
fishing until the designated start time.
- All
contestants are encouraged to notify the Tournament Director that they have concluded
their tournament day. Should a contestant leave the tournament early, they are
encouraged to leave a note on the Tournament Director's vehicle or contact them
by cell phone
- All fish must be caught on
artificial baits by casting
- No trolling
with the big motor is allowed
- Contestants
must receive a weigh-in slip or acknowledgement (designated poker chip) from the
Tournament Director no later than that day's cut-off time or have their fish disqualified
for that days weigh-in
- Contestants must
present their poker chip to be allowed to weigh-in. A lost poker chip will dissallow
a contestant from weighing in.
- It is up
to the contestant to determine their big bass and ask to have it weighed.
- Heaviest
stringer will decide a tie on big bass
- Largest
bass on stringer will decide a tie on heavy stringer
- All
protests must be submitted to the Tournament Director within 15 minutes of the
last fish weighed in
- The available members
of the Tournament Committee will arbitrate tournament protests
- The
Tournament Committee will determine the merit of the protest
- The
contestant making the protest and the contestant in question will remain at the
tournament site until the Tournament Committee has reached a decision
- The
Tournament Director shall have seven (7) days from the completion date of the
tournament to verify the eligibility of all participants. Any team with participant(s)
found ineligible during that period, will be automatically disqualified, and the
final cash payouts and points awarded will be reallocated to reflect the change(s)
in the tournament results
- Once a decision
is made, the matter is closed and will be given no further consideration
- Start
and stop times will be designated by the Tournament Director and announced at
the Club meeting prior to the tournament
- Each
contestant must sign-in before fishing the tournament
- The
Tournament Director or assisting Tournament Committee member(s) must check all
bass at weigh-in
- All contestants must fish
as a team whether he/she has a partner or not
- Duplicate
awards will not be awarded in case of an individual fishing alone that may place
in the tournament
- Only one entry fee will
be charged. No more than two contestants per Team per boat. Teams must be determined
prior to the tournament
- Non-contestants
under 14 years of age may fish or accompany the team
- Tournament
entry fees are 'per team'
- Tournament entry
fees are 'per team'
- There is no 'off limits'
period assigned to any Club tournament, unless assigned otherwise by the Tournament
Director. The Tournament Director will determine
official LAUNCH, LEAVE, START, and WEIGH-IN times for each Club tournament
